This project involved the following
- Planning, analysis and logical design of a corporate GIS for the Durban Metro, included re-organising staff structures to provide for the requirements of corporate GIS and an implementation plan for a RDBMS to store spatial and attribute data.
- Data conversion of Municipal financial data from a variety of systems and linking to the cadastral.
- Compilation by capture or conversion of some 450 000 land parcels with addresses to form the formal address database.
- Capture of some 145 000 informal dwellings by GPS and integrating them into the GIS to form the informal address database.
- Analysis, design and implementation of a customised spatial front-end for front counter and spatial data viewing applications.
